How We Work With You

Our Wealth Management Process is a Collaborative Endeavor.

One of us will be your “go-to” partner.
To provide you with consistent focus and attention, one of our team members will be your “point person.” And because we’re team-oriented – listening to the markets, analysts and each other – you benefit from a coordinated and collaborative approach. Together and separately, we’re prepared to assist you.

Just as we ask questions of ourselves, we ask you:

  • What keeps you up at night?  How can we reduce volatility and improve your outlook?
  • What do you want for your family in the near term and in the future?  How do we help create a legacy or provide for a special needs child?
  • Can you retire in five (or ten) years?  Can we take advantage of a defined benefit plan to bolster retirement savings?
  • Have you reviewed your estate plan?  Are you implementing timely strategies to reduce the size of your taxable estate?

Working hard to earn your trust is what we do.

Meeting Your Expectations. There are no short-cuts to understanding your personal circumstances and objectives. As your needs change, we need to know. Clients tell us that communication and collaboration are two reasons we continue to meet and surpass their expectations.

Mutual Education. We need to learn about you and vice versa. We need to appreciate your investment experiences, balance sheet composition, capital constraints, tax implications and emotional dependence. And that’s just the start. You’ll want to meet our team, examine potential portfolios and review our resources.

Our Examinations and Evaluations. We will carefully analyze your current portfolio and make recommendations based on your risk tolerance, time horizon and an objective analysis of your current investments.

Presenting to You. We don’t expect you to be an expert on dividend growth rates or bullish percent. Our goal is that you fully understand what we propose and why. That’s why we’ll carefully explain – in as much detail as you prefer – the composition of our proposed portfolio and any other recommendations.

Reviewing and Monitoring. Continuously, we look at where we’ve been and where we expect to go. We will plan for multiple scenarios, in the markets and in your personal and professional life.

How our Investment Philosophy Affects
our Wealth Management Approach.

With your financial picture, goals and risk tolerance accounted for, our “total return philosophy” seeks to minimize the downside and may use cash as a “hedge.” Of course, cash is also valuable in that it provides money to invest in the markets.

If you’re income-oriented, for example, a predictable stream of dividends will be an objective. In every case, our disciplined approach to managing your investments combines fundamentals (what to buy) and technical factors (when to buy and sell). This dictates selection and timing – void of emotional sentiment.

In addition to listening to you, we listen to the markets, to each other, to economists, third-party research and selected managers. We strive to get “the asset classes right” and, if you would like, educate you on managing your own investments.

Our guiding principle is to provide sound financial advice that CAN translate into consistent returns for investing clients. Today, we are proud to serve multiple generations of clients, in addition to many who’ve been referred by colleagues, family and friends.
